Stakeholders

Water users make up the various stakeholder groups from which councillors are drawn, through an election process held at an annual general meeting(AGM) under the supervision of the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water & Rural Development (M.L.A.F.W.R.D). The stakeholder groups are as follows:

Rural District Councils.
Communal farmers.
Resettlement farmers.
Small scale commercial farmers.
Large scale commercial farmers.
Indigenous commercial farmers.
Urban authorities.
Large scale mines.
Small scale mines.
Institutions.
Micro hydro power stations.
Industry.
Any other stakeholder group in consultation with other stakeholder groups or the sub-catchment council, may identify; [Subpara (j) amended by SI 243/00 with effect from the 15th September,2000].
